Global Marine Team Program Coordinator, The Nature Conservancy Location: Rhode Island at URI Bay campus in Narragansett. The GMT Program coordinator proactively manages a wide range of activities to promote communication and learning across the Conservancy's marine practitioners; provides substantial support for the outreach, communications and leverage elements of GMT conservation strategies; and works closely with GMT Director and deputy on team planning, management and reporting. Primary areas of responsibility include:, • Across the Conservancy marine learning and communication: Develops and implements a range of strategic activities aimed a building cohesion and promoting learning across TNC's marine practitioners. This includes maintaining communication with/ information about marine field programs; responsible for marine@tnc; Marine Aggregation Speakers' series; provides input for "on-boarding" new personnel with marine responsibilities; builds/maintains marine TNC marine directory; manages GMT web-based subscriptions and Conserve on-line GMT workspaces; maintains marine photobase. • GMT Conservation Strategy Support. Working with Marketing Resource Center staff, works with GMT Director and Strategy Team Leads to prepare and implement GMT-wide and Strategy-specific Communications' plans. Manages review, editing, production and distribution processes for major GMT products; promotes appropriate integration and consistency among products; • Web-based GMT toolkit and Newsletter support. Works with strategy teams and contractors to ensure regular updates and functionality of web-based toolkits. Supports evaluation and adjustment of tool-kit strategies. Manage web subscriptions for toolkits. Support preparation of the web-based newsletters. • Team Management including Planning, Budgeting & Reporting. Facilitates Global Marine Team communication and team building including coordination of the programmatic aspects of team meetings; supports strategic and annual work planning processes; prepares required GMT progress reports and special reports. • Fundraising Support. Supports the GMT Director in her role as Ocean Priority Co-Sponsor including maintaining communications with Ocean Priority Campaign staff and Ocean Priority Project Managers. Supports preparation of proposals and presentations. Responsible for progress report preparation • Major GMT Events. Manages large GMT marine events such as the bi-annual Marine Aggregation and other major workshops, coordinates GMT presence (people, materials, exhibits, etc) at important internal and external meetings, The Global Marine Team is a Conservancy-wide initiative that aims to expand and improve marine conservation both within the Conservancy and globally. International in scope, the Global Marine Team is working to improve the long term survival and resilience of critical coastal and marine habitats and to advance marine conservation.
