Well, it's the last one for this year, anyway... goes by quick, doesn't it? The weather looks a little unsettled, maybe some more thunderstorms around, but hopefully with sunshine in between for playing outside, and maybe another spectacular rainbow or two like we had on Tuesday.
The weekend also brings loads of farmers markets -- likely the last chance for local strawberries -- the Newport Flower Show, the East Bay Butterfly Count, a bunch of hikes and bike rides and river paddles, plus Waterfire. Sunday afternoon, the busy farmers of Ledge Ends Produce will offer an “Introduction to Organic Farming & Gardening,” which should provide lots of useful tips for new home gardeners. You can find details for all of these events, plus lots more, at our NNN Community Calendar. |

You can start out tonight with a lecture on sharks, at Audubon's education center in Bristol. Friday, the Apeiron folks host an Evolution Forum potluck event at Moonstone Farms in Wakefield. Come learn about local agriculture, join an open discussion, and relax with some local bands and Newport Storm beer.
