Here it is spring, with beautiful weather, green growing things all around, and everyone wants to be outside. We are lucky to live in a place without poisonous snakes or other dangerous wildlife. But what about ticks?

tickTicks are expected to be abundant this year (click here for a recent report from URI). But we don't have to give up being outside. Educate yourself about our local ticks! Click here for info about tick-bite prevention. And you can check out the 3rd Annual Tick Awareness Day at URI on June 7.  And coming up soon, at the Roger Williams Park Botanical Garden, new tick-bite prevention initiatives will be announced.
