Bicycles are a wonderful way to get around and get some exercise and fresh air, but unfortunately, our roads and drivers can be a hazard for bikers. Frank Cabral was just 41 years old, riding his bike on Route 1 in Charlestown this time last year, when a driver hit him from behind, and he was killed. His friends are working to make sure this never happens again, and you can help by taking part this Saturday, Sept. 13, in a special bike ride that aims to remind motorists to SHARE THE ROAD.

The ride starts at 10 am at Matunuck Elementary School, and covers 25 miles along Route 1. Police cruisers will be placed along the route to ensure riders' safety. The registration fee of $15 includes a t-shirt, entry in a mountain-bike raffle, memorial bracelet, bumper sticker, bottled drinks, protein bars, and a sense of satisfaction for working to promote a worthy and important cause in honor of a great guy who died too young. For more info, click here or contact Lori DiBiasio at 401-738-7809. Click here for a recent projo story. Riders can register right up to the day of the ride.

On September 4th, 2007, Frank Cabral took his last bicycle ride.

Frank was struck and killed by a motorist on Route 1, in Charlestown, RI.

He was 41 years young, loved life, and truly lived it.

Frank’s Ride will take place on Saturday, September 13th, at 10:00 a.m., starting at Matunuck Elementary School in South Kingstown, RI.  The ride will be 25.5 miles, making a loop around Route 1.  There will be police with cruisers at different points on the ride, to ensure the safety of all cyclists.

The registration fee of $15 includes t-shirt, memorial bracelet, bumper sticker, bottles drinks, protein bar, and peace of mind, in hopes that all motorists will be aware to SHARE THE ROAD.

All pre-registered cyclists will be eligible to win a Cannondale Crush mountain Bike, to take home that day.

*Please pre-register by August 28th, 2008.  Make check payable to Lori DiBiasio.

Please print, complete, and mail with check to:
