Bunches of farmers markets around the state are opening this weekend, with "pre-season" offerings. Mostly that means seedlings and plants for your garden, but you can also find asparagus, eggs, flowers, greens, and lots more. The Farm Fresh site has more info.
The Pawtuxet Village Farmers Market also opens this Saturday, 9 to 12, with seedlings, hanging plants, flowers and perhaps a few greens. And here's a good idea for a Mother's Day gift -- the new Pawtuxet Village Farmers' Market shopping bag will be on sale for the first time. It's American made of 100-percent recycled bottles and has the market's beautiful logo on the front. This unique Mothers Day gift is only $10. Proceeds go to the farmers market.
Find the market in the Rhodes on the Pawtuxet parking lot, on Rhodes Place just off Broad Street in Pawtuxet Village in Cranston.
