**NOTE some of our links have gone awry in our recent redesign, and we are working to get them all pointing where they should again. We hope to have them all working soon, meanwhile, if you need anything and can't find it, please This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it and we'll get you there.** Rhode Island is a small state, and it's easy for you to get involved and help make a big difference. You can join one of our local environmental groups. Click here for NNN's directory. All of them welcome volunteers. Not sure if volunteering is for you? Go to NNN's Beginner's Guide to Pitching In for more info about the options. Several agencies offer in-depth training for volunteers and programs for stewards. You can send emails to your representatives in the General Assembly, and let them know that you care about our Bay, beaches, forests, rivers, and wildlife. Every voice helps to convince them that people are paying attention, and these issues are important to their constituents. It takes only as few as three personal emails to get the attention of legislators. The Environment Council of Rhode Island offers a brief summary of green bills pending in Rhode Island's General Assembly. NNN makes it easy for you to show your support, with links directly to your elected officials' email addresses. Click on the "Advocacy" category in the left sidebar for an archive of recent NNN news and updates.
